The conference will be held at Retreat House Bandra, Mumbai between 13th to 17th December 2018.

What is the theme for SAYC 2018?
The theme for SAYC 2018 is Leadership for the Future of South Asia. We have seen a history of different kinds of leadership and their impact. We feel its time to see which form of leadership will build a peaceful South Asia.

Who can apply for the conference?
We are essentially looking for participants between 22 to 35 years of age who are citizens of any South Asian country and have:

  • International exposure and/or experience in peace-building work
  • Willingness to take up leadership roles in the South Asian peace-building movement
  • Openness for learning, inter-cultural dialogue and taking action for peaceful change in South Asia.

(Preference would be given to alumni, partners, and networks that have been a part of SAYC series or BRM in order to build and strengthen the existing movement.)

What is the deadline to submit the application form?
The last date to apply is 30th October 2018. The applications will be assessed on a rolling basis which means that there is a possibility of spots being filled prior to the application deadline.

What does selection on a rolling basis mean? (For international participants only)
Instead of waiting for all the applications to come, we would assess them as and how we receive them. It means that there is a possibility of spots being filled prior to the application deadline. In order to avoid this, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. The reason behind doing this is to help the participants initiate their visa process as early as possible and avoid last minute hassles.

Is it necessary to do a Random Act of Kindness?

As a part of the application process, we invite you to do a Random Act of Kindness that will add to the strength of your application. Share about the act on the following link:

What happens after I get selected? (For all participants)

International delegates are required to immediately begin with their visa process while keeping us updated with its status.
