David Woollcombe is one of the founding directors of Peace Child International, UK. He has been a close friend, mentor and long time supporter of BRM. It was at the 5th World Youth Congress of PCI that BRM was inspired to start and host the South Asian Youth Conference.
PCI, a non-governmental organization, started off as a musical play about young people bringing peace to the world, punching a hole through the Iron Curtain in 1986 by carrying out the first ever Soviet-American youth exchange. Since then, Peace Child has gone on to pioneer the preparation of youth-created books on issues of global importance, and hailed the concept of youth-led development through a series of World Youth Congresses. From musical to NGO, from the Cold War to the hot war of Climate Change, Peace Child has moved swiftly along the spectrum of actively promoting peace through its Be the Change! Programs.
